About

Cherry 2000 originally formed in 1997 in Daytona Beach, Florida. We shared the stage and the scene with other local Florida bands such as Skif Dank, Stalefish, The Doomed Clowns, Fortitude, Sucka Punch, Pu Tang Clan, and others that I’m sure I’m forgetting.

Not long after we released our first cassette (yup…we ARE that old), known as “The Red Tape” , Cherry 2000 received a scary letter from an “attorney” for another band using the name. In hindsight, we should have told them to go fuck themselves, but we were young and dumb and decided to change our name…

We played one show at The Milk Bar in Jacksonville under the name Bambi 14, then settled on the new name Doctor Evil. Under that name we put out our second release “Better Living Through Mutation” in 1998. We pressed either 500 or 1000 copies of this album on CD, my aging brain is fuzzy on details.

We had the opportunity to open for a few national acts in our day including The Misfits, The Genitorturers, Los Gusanos and probably others that I’m once again forgetting…

After the band broke up, and the members went their separate ways, Jeremy, who had moved to Las Vegas, decided to resurrect Cherry 2000, write some new songs and keep the band alive. He recorded several new songs such as “Cross Out Needy” and “What’s Your Pleasure Sir?” and played shows in the Las Vegas area.

Fast forward to 2025. Cherry 2000 is back in Central Florida. With original members Eric and Jeremy at the helm, Adam, our incredible bass player from the Doctor Evil days, and joined by the legendary Daytona drummer Dave Kiel, Cherry 2000 is getting ready to re-record some of our old tracks and record some all new songs as well.

We are actively looking to book shows anywhere that will have us!

Help keep local original music alive!
